But I adore Charlotte Brontë and ofcourse I read Wuthering Heights so I thought this was going to be just as good. But it wasn&#8217;t. At first I thought it was rather dull and I didn&#8217;t have any feelings for the characters, I did feel some irritation towards the children but I guess that was supposed to happen. It did get better though. I started to appreciate the main character more and that helped. But the love she felt for mr. Weston didn&#8217;t really hit me. I read the words but I didn&#8217;t feel anything. Not everybody can be like mr. Rochester (from Jane Eyre), I know that, but mr. Weston didn&#8217;t move me at all. Aren&#8217;t you supposed to feel some of the love that the main character carries in her heart? I could only feel her sadness at some times, but not love and certainly no passion.
